Discovering Hepatica in bloom is one of the highlights of early spring in eastern North America. It is one of the most delightful early blooming species (Hepatica nobilis), with its bright blue, white, or pink flowers. They shimmer in the rays of sunshine that reach the forest floor through the branches of the leafless trees of earliest springtime.
