The Apothecary course is an interactive experience which allows the student the opportunity to create herbal products. Medicine making techniques and methods are discussed and the herbs chosen for their healing capacity. Demonstration is the fundamental teaching method used to introduce the medicine making techniques each month. In the laboratory, students work together with supervision to make the formulas and recipes given. Each month students take home many different products for their own apothecary.
Native Medicinal Plant Workshop
June 22, 23 & 24
Sunday, Monday & Tuesday 9:30 – 5:30
Learn to identify and use the local medicinal plants of our beautiful mountain region.We will gather, harvest and brew into herbal teas, elixirs, tinctures, oils and salves the healing plants so bountiful here. Explore the fields, mountains, stream beds and roadside in search for native medicinals. Learn to incorporate these wonderfully healing plants into a traditional home apothecary.
$100. per day with lunches included. or $225 for all 3 days
For overnight and dinner accommodations add $20.
Herbal Sprouts Day Camp
July 30, 31 & August 1
Wednesday, Thursday & Friday
Children enjoy fresh Lemon balm, Chamomile and Peppermint. These herbs relax the digestion and calm a tired child. Let’s teach them the art of tea infusion formulation. The camp will provide an opportunity for the children to taste and make herbal concoctions.
